World Kidney Day Campaign Officer

The World Kidney Day Campaign mobilizes thousands of activists around the world every year to raise awareness about kidney disease and how to combat it. This role is based in our Global Operations Centre in Brussels. We're celebrating our 60th anniversary this year but our team is young, multinational (we have more than 16 nationalities in the office) full of enthusiasm and great ideas. 

Our WKD Campaign Officer plays a vital support role in the global WKD campaign working with the WKD Manager and the ISN Advocacy Director to develop the WKD communication strategy and website. You will need strong social media skills as the lead for our WKD social media and online presence. You will also manage the WKD blog and support the coordination and management of the WKD stakeholders’ network.

Other key tasks include supporting the development of WKD communication materials for the difference audiences, supporting our presence at ISN and partner events, leading the coordination of all WKD deliverables (e.g. scientific editorial, translations, special projects) and supporting the drafting and development of  WKD reports and other relevant publications. Skills and Qualifications

Do you have all or most of the following skills and experience?

  • Excellent communication skills including proven ability to manage a variety of social media accounts
  • Demonstrable experience in curating social media presence (use of scheduling tools, graphic-design tool, analytics tools)
  • Ability to write clear and concise reports
  • Proven ability to produce results within tight deadlines and under pressure
  • Excellent computer proficiency
  • Analytical, decision-making and presentation skills
  • Outstanding proven time management and organizational skills
  • Excellent written English
  • Willingness to travel

Any of the following is a plus: 

  • Experience in public campaigning and or communication
  • Experience in event organizing 
  • Knowledge of at least another European language besides English

The candidate must hold a valid working permit for Belgium.
