“Union of the Electricity Industry - EURELECTRIC" is the sector association representing the electricity industry at panEuropean level. We seek to contribute to the competitiveness of the electricity industry, provide effective representation for the industry in public affairs, and promote the role of electricity in the advancement of society. EURELECTRIC is seeking to appoint a dynamic, creative and passionate Business Development Advisor (ref. BDA1207)

Overall task: to join its Communication & Corporate Affairs team in Brussels

  • Develop and implement strategies for building and sustaining relationships with EURELECTRIC’s Business Associates members.
  • Establishes partnerships with and delivers key services to the Associates, sets up marketing deals and helps in organizing various promotional events.
  • Marketing and strategic analysis of the electricity sector’s business opportunities are important aspects of the position, along with strong negotiation skills and experience researching market trends.

Main accountabilities:

  • Management of Corporate Affairs Department Budget (events, communications, publications, partnerships, sponsorships, etc.)
  • Analyse current Business Associate base, including portfolios, to identify potential opportunities
  • Research prospective business partners in the utility ecosphere, pursue leads and follow through to a successful new Associate membership
  • Follow the latest electricity industry developments and stay up to-date on utility business opportunities and value stream potential
  • Develop quotes and proposals
  • Work closely with key Associates to keep them updated on process changes designed to improve service
  • Profile and promote the brand and key messages among stakeholders
  • Attend and represent EURELECTRIC at utility conferences, meetings, and industry events
  • Keep up to date on Companies/Associations best practices, policies, conferences
  • Profile and brand the industry across a variety of social media networks (especially LinkedIn and Twitter)
  • Attend and represent EURELECTRIC at utility conferences, meetings, and industry events

Keep up to date on Companies/Associations best practices, policies, conferences Requirements and competencies:

  • University degree with minimum 3 years professional experience in sales, marketing, business development or management consulting
  • In-depth understanding of the European power sector, its business models, its future business opportunities and its main stakeholders
  • Basic understanding of the EU political process and knowledge about energy and environment issues, a definite plus
  • Excellent organisational skills, with emphasis on priorities and goal setting
  • Prospecting, Persuasion, Closing skills, motivation for sales
  • Superior presentation and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to communicate information, whether technical or non-technical to staff members and EURELECTRIC members, in a clear and concise manner
  • Stress-resistant team player, able to work under pressure, dynamic, outgoing personality, eager to work in a busy, international environment.
