Job Description
The European Science Foundation provides administrative and scientific management for COST, its Domain Committees and its Actions through the COST Office in Brussels and corporate support services in Strasbourg. This is achieved through a support grant provided to ESF by the European Commission. COST is an inter-governmental system supporting European research networking.
The ESF seeks a motivated and skilled Business Analyst for its Brussels office. The position requires a responsible individual who is outgoing, with a committed and sensible attitude to work.
Position responsibilities:
• Act as the bridge between IS and Business.
• Analyse Business needs and write Business Requirements specifications.
• Manage the full life-cycle of Business Requirements and quantify Business benefits.
• Assist in maintaining the COST Vademecum.
• Encourage new initiatives to automate Business processes and maintain a roadmap of Business Requirements.
• Act as Data Manager and Data Quality Manager.
• Maintenance of user documentation and training of users..
Profile and competencies:
Specific competencies
• Bachelor or Masters degree in a relevant discipline such as Business Administration, Engineering or Computer Science.
• 5+ years experience in analysing Business needs.
• Excellent spoken and written English.
• Business orientated and proficiency in the use of technology.
• Good knowledge of financial services business systems and interfaces and in science management systems.
• Proficient computer skills

• Customer focused and Result driven approach.
• Excellent communication skills.
