AFP Services, the global news agency’s institutional news subsidiary, is recruiting in Brussels a native English-speaking TV journalist to cover news from the EU institutions, among others the EU Commission and the European Parliament. 

Under the supervision of an editor-in-chief, you will be carrying out research, writing scripts for short newsvideo packages, briefing graphic designers on animations, preparing and conducting interviews, speaking voice-overs and occasionally pre-editing your own pieces.  You will also write short texts for the web and social media on EU news under very tight deadlines.

Qualifications and competencies

  • BA in journalism, English or equivalent journalistic/editorial background
  • More specifically background in TV news journalism: writing and producing television newspieces
  • Ability to deliver under pressure of daily deadlines
  • Ability to understand and translate from French into English mandatory
  • Other EU languages a clear advantage
  • Experience with social networks
  • Experience working in a multilingual environment
  • Basic knowledge of Adobe/FinalCut Pro

 The position is to be filled as soon as possible in Brussels. No payment for relocation.
