UITP, the International Association of Public Transport, is a non-profit organisation representing the interests of the public transport sector world-wide. Its headquarters in Brussels has over 70 staff and serves over 3,400 members in 90 countries.

In the current context of the European legislative developments linked to railways

UITP seeks for its EU Department a
Advisor for Suburban and Regional Rail

Primary responsibilities will include:

• Follow-up of the activities of the European Institutions (Commission, Parliament, Council, ..) and European Railway Agency
• Information of members on developments of the legislation and coordination of UITP input into the legislative process
• Organization of the direct input from members mainly through the ERA working groups
• Input into the European projects on conventional rail
• Management of the Regional and Suburban Rail group on EU affairs

Ideal candidate will have:

• University degree (economics, law, European studies etc)
• Relevant Experience in rail passenger business
• Good knowledge/ experience in European Affairs
• Excellent communication skills
• Excellent level of English and French/or any other European language

Practical Information:

• Position is based in Brussels
• Starting date : early 2012
