We work with a diverse range of leading asset managers and asset owners in developing and implementing tailored responsible investment strategies. The team operates in a lively, collaborative and supportive environment, where each day is different.


This role is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to be part of Sustainalytics’ growth story, focusing on the German speaking markets. We offer a comprehensive training and development programme to build your knowledge of the responsible investment industry. As you develop, you will take on more significant responsibilities in a leading role.  We expect you to have strong communication skills and a can-do attitude. This role has a strong emphasis on relationship development with clients and prospects and you will be an ambassador for Sustainalytics from early on. The ideal candidate gets energy from interactions with clients and enjoys networking.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Support the management team by contributing to the DACH business development strategy as well as developing commercial opportunities
  • Grow and maintain a robust sales pipeline by:
    • Taking ownership of and successfully closing incoming opportunities as agreed with DACH head
    • Responding to requests for proposals
    • Working with senior team to develop new sales opportunities
  • Stay on top of market developments, identify and share product innovation opportunities
  • Build your network within the investment and responsible investment space and represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking groups
  • Assist with the organization of client and sales-related events
  • Develop ESG and investment industry knowledge

We work on a daily basis with colleagues in our other European offices, so the desire to work very closely with a diverse team from many different cultures is critical to working at Sustainalytics.


The ideal candidate needs to be an ambitious team player who can both succeed individually, as well as reaching goals through close collaboration with other team members. The role is suited to those with a minimum of a couple of years work experience in a relevant field. The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • Demonstrated passion for sustainability and an alignment with Sustainalytics’ mission, vision and values
  • Sound understanding of financial services and responsible investment industry
  • Financial services, responsible investment or sustainability-related work experience is desirable
  • Degree in related discipline (business, finance, environment and/or social sciences), CFA or Masters degree desired
  • German and English fluency (essential), other European languages are desirable
  • Strong client servicing skills and a commercial mindset
  • Ability to take the initiative and think creatively and proactively
  • A natural story teller, you can understand and present complex concepts in an engaging way
  • Experience and an aptitude in leading projects from start to finish with little oversight is essential
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook and PowerPoint
