Job Description
The European Dairy Association (EDA) is looking for a full-time, 'all-round' Administrative Assistant.
He/ she will be flexible, service-minded, team-oriented for challenging, multi-faceted admin. position. Fluent English a must, good French highly desirable, another EU language an advantage. Job comprises all traditional secretarial/administrative tasks with an accent on Trade & Economics (numerate, ability to elegantly present and work with figures, and some knowledge of EU affairs & institutions a plus). The maturity to handle a non-standard reporting situation, sense of humour, stress-resistance and ability to “wear several hats” are all vital.
In return, we offer a contract in an interesting, challenging work environment. Initially, the contract will be a fixed term one, with possibility for a permanent assignment. Central location, easy access.
Job Specifications:
* Assistant to the Trade & Economics “Desk” with a focus on compilation & well-designed presentation of EDA statistics & graphics; EU statistical data organisation and follow-up; regular dissemination of informational documents & EU material; meeting planning and preparation, monitoring of the publications in the Official Journal and of agendas of Committees of the EU Parliament.
* Assistance to the Office Manager to ensure smooth organization and running of internal office procedures: distribution of industry publications; staff meeting preparation/assistance. Maintenance of Annual Meeting Planning schedule. Some help to other Desk Assistant in major congress/conference organization.
EDA represents the interests of the European dairy industry towards the European Institutions as well as to the international bodies
EDA has the membership out of 25 Member states and is managed by a Secretariat of 8 people, based in Brussels
