Account Director/Director (EU Public Affairs)

Job description:

Cicero Group's EU Public Affairs team are looking for a dynamic Account Director/Director to oversee multiple client accounts in diverse sectors (financial services, tourism, online sales) and managing account handling teams. The role will be in a fast-moving entrepreneurial environment, helping our clients stay on top of the busy EU legislative landscape.

The role:

  • Key support for Executive Director of the EU Public Affairs team.
  • Taking an active role in developing and winning new business.
  • Playing a key role in pitches, identifying and converting prospective new business targets.
  • Provide senior counsel to clients, taking full responsibility for managing your account handling teams and account delivery.
  • Developing and managing strategic and creative public affairs campaigns (legislative and non-legislative)
  • Developing junior members of staff.
  • Helping to develop Cicero Group's external presence and marketing.

Your experience:

  • A minimum of 8 years’ experience in a consultancy, European institution, trade association or equivalent organisation. 
  • Expert knowledge and experience of the EU legislative and policy landscape is essential. 
  • Fully rounded Public Affairs consultant. 
  • Commercially knowledgeable with proven new business skills. 
  • Expert knowledge of policy and legislative issues and fully competent to consult on them. 
  • Experience of developing and executing complex strategic EU public affairs campaigns.

  • Excellent written and communication skills.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail. 
  • The working language of the office is English, an additional language would be an asset but not essential.
  • Proven management and leadership skills with the desire to manage a team. 
  • Excellent relationship building skills.
  • A strategic and entrepreneurial mind-set.
  • Always thinking ahead.
