Job Description
Libertas, a new European political movement, is seeking to hire highly-qualified and talented students for a period of 5 months (February – June 2009) in Brussels to get involved in running a pan-European election campaign. Libertas is committed to reforming the EU so that it is democratic, accountable and transparent to its citizens.
Your credentials
You are a student or recent graduate with leadership skills and energy. You have organisation and project management skills. You want to change Europe. You have been involved in campaigning. You have an excellent feel for the political landscape in Europe and especially in your country. You want to get engaged and are willing to learn from leading personalities and decision-makers from the Brussels scene, and brilliant researchers and campaigners.
You are prepared to fully commit to a six-month experience of a lifetime with Libertas.
The Libertas Offer
Libertas interns' training programme will be run by leading academics under the lead of Jens-Peter Bonde, the most longstanding and experienced Member and group leader of the European Parliament, who also wrote 60 books about European integration and has a lexicon on the net – see euabc.com and Bonde.com.
You will work in the brand new Libertas office in the heart of the EU, next to the European Commission, the Council and the European Parliament. You will be in the thick of an exciting election campaign. You will work with colleagues from 27 Member States. Libertas will contribute towards your cost of living with € 700 per month. You may well be in your home country in the month of May co-organising the election of our candidates to in the 2009 European elections.
